Today is Edward’s birthday – 67 years old. We started out to visit St. Chappel and Marie Antoinette cell but it was closed for lunch (we assume) and would not open until 2:00 pm.
St. Chappel and Marie Antoinette’s Cell
We decided to just walk around and see what was around. We went in several little shops and then looked around at restaurant menus to see prices and all the different kinds of food available. We found an area between rue St Germaine and the river that are small ally/pedestrian type streets with hundreds of restaurants. We decided to go back there after Edward's birthday dinner.
Another one of my signs I like.
Birthday Dinner for Edward at La Coupe-Chou Restaurant.
Wine was La Petite Crapule a local vintage. I think it means “Little Scoundrel”– a good name for Edward’s birthday, don’t you think?
The Hotel Claude Bernard was one block away where we stayed the last time we were in Paris with our friends, Ann and Jim Esteb. It’s not really George, it is Edward, but he likes the Restaurant name.
We went back to the restaurant area and it was so much fun. When the sun sets and the lights come on it is a party atmosphere on every street. We enjoyed seeing and talking with the restaurant people.
Restaurant streets at night. It has a Mari Gras atmosphere
A window display in the restaurant area showing all the food.
We had a wonderful evening for Edward’s birthday.
