We got up and had breakfast at the hotel – coffee, orange juice and a baguette. That is a usual breakfast in the hotels. We go to the train station to get on the 11:15 am train Strasbourg to Paris to arrive at 1:34 pm., 2 hours and 25 minutes. Driving would take over 5 hours. It is so much easier to ride the train than the airplane.
We are at the apartment now and I am doing laundry. Edward wants to pick up his shirts at the laundry today as tomorrow is Sunday. Well, on his way back he decides to stop at the ATM across the street from the apartment. He said just as he entered the amount 2 Arab boys ran up from somewhere. One of them grabbed the money out of the ATM machine and the other one pushed the button to return the card. Edward push and shoved him and he was not able to get the card. Also, a Frenchman was walking nearby and saw what was happening and ran up to help Edward. He and Edward yelled and hit at them and they ran away. We are so thankful they did not have any weapons. Edward was not harmed but they did get the money but not the card. Needless to say, Edward will NOT go out alone again to the ATM - no matter what the reason. This happened about 3:00 on Saturday afternoon and that is a fairly busy time on this street but not as much as during the week. I guess it doesn't matter what time of day they try to do this. We are going to be extra careful from now on.
We are staying in the apartment today for sure.
