Departed Verona this morning and drove to Lecco, Italy on Lake Como. We arrived in Lecco, Italy on the shore of Lake Como.
Edward said, “Elaine has finally arrived at the location she has wanted to see for years. I have to admit that she is absolutely right. Before our arrival the most beautiful places I had seen are the islands off the Adriatic Coast of Croatia and Botany Bay, the harbor of Sydney, Australia. I believe that Lake Como has surpassed Sydney Harbor for its beauty. Mountains coming down to the lake. Water so clear you can see 10' down and small towns about every 5 miles along the lake. Tomorrow we drive to Bellagio to pursue Elaine's quest to find George Cloony at his chateau there. He will spot us from a long way off since we are driving a Fiat 500 painted red, white and green, the colors of the Italian flag. A broad white band in the middle and red on one side and green on the other. We will let you know if we find George. For now we have decided to extend our stay from 3 to 5 days. We should have come earlier and stayed longer!!!!!!!!”
