One a day at sea between the Faroe Islands and Iceland, the ship held a “Blue Nose” party. There seems to be a tradition of the ship when you reach these northern latitudes for the Captain to put a ladle of ice water down your back, give you a shot of Icelandic vodka and paint your nose blue. We declined to participate. The air temperature at the time was a chilly 46 degrees on the pool deck where the ceremony was held.
