Well, if you travel continuously for four months you are bound to miscalculate days at some point. Mine was in Dublin. I thought we were booked into the hotel through August 7. But, the desk called at noon and wanted to know when we would be checking out. We tried to stay another night but the hotel was overbooked for that night. Since we had seen about as much of Dublin as we could and since Elaine had a terrible cold, we decided to see if we could get the ferry to Holyhead and simply relax in Holyhead, Wales for an extra day. We were successful. The B&B we had booked for the following night could take us that night so we quickly packed and headed for the ferry.

Arriving at South Stack Lighthouse on the coast of Wales.
Above, the high speed pontoon ferry to Ireland. We tried to get that one but there were only standby tickets available. It makes the crossing in one hour fifty minutes instead of the normal 3 hours 10 minutes. Below, arrival at the Holyhead Port with the Welsh flag which I think is really nice.
Below, the marina view from the restaurant at The Boathouse where we are staying in Holyhead and the St Cybi’s church that it built within the walls of an old Roman Fort.

Elaine keeping watch over the anchor and flowers in Holyhead. Her cold is better. The bartender at The Boathouse suggested she acquire some old Welsh herbal remedy cough syrup. We found the shop and it worked so well, we bought the last 3 bottles they had!
