We decided to ride the water bus to tour around Venice to see it from the water. We went to the Lido (Beach Area), Burono, (Fisherman’s Island, fish market, etc.), Murano (Italian Murano Glass is made here), City Island (the cemetery), then through the canal under the Rialto Bridge and back to the San Marco Plaza area. We made a stop by the ATM to load up with some $$ for our Tuscany trip which is in a remote rural area in a 13th Century Monastery with limited credit card use and ATMs. Later we grabbed a bite to eat. After lunch we took the water bus back to the terminal near our apartment and enjoyed a some wine and relaxed before going to dinner at a restaurant nearby.
How do people function in this city? It seems it would take some getting use to the situation of having to deal with everything being on the water. No cars, bicycles or golf cars, basically no motorized vehicles, period. Very narrow streets(?) rather they are walkways built like a maze.
Ahhh! Venice is so relaxing!
